Nathan Powell Foundation
Nathan Powell Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals living with spinal cord injuries receive durable medical equipment and medical bill assistance that supports greater independence, confidence, and hope.

We understand that the effects of a spinal cord injury go far beyond the initial medical emergency. Individuals and families may face ongoing expenses for equipment, repairs, supplies, medical care, transportation, and accessibility.
Our organization was created to help ease some of those burdens.
We are a growing nonprofit with limited resources, but we are committed to making a meaningful difference—one person and one need at a time.
When Nathan Powell was 12 years old, he was shot and sustained a spinal cord injury that left him paralyzed from the chest down.
Through rehabilitation, determination, and the support of people who stood beside him, Nathan learned how to move forward through challenges he never expected to face. He also learned how difficult it can be to obtain necessary medical equipment and manage expenses that are not fully covered by insurance.
Those experiences inspired him to establish Nathan Powell Foundation in Missouri in 2022.
The foundation was established so that individuals living with spinal cord injuries would know they are not forgotten and do not have to face every challenge alone.
Our mission is to help people living with spinal cord injuries get the support they need to live with more independence, confidence, and hope.
We currently focus on durable medical equipment assistance and medical bill assistance.
We envision a future in which individuals living with spinal cord injuries have greater access to the equipment, resources, and assistance they need, regardless of their financial circumstances.
As our organization grows, we hope to expand our ability to serve more individuals and families.
We treat every person with kindness, understanding, and dignity.
We are committed to using donations responsibly and being honest about what our organization can provide.
We support needs that can help individuals live with greater safety, mobility, and confidence.
We believe that even a small act of generosity can bring encouragement during a difficult time.
We believe meaningful change happens when individuals, businesses, organizations, and communities work together.

Thank you for visiting Nathan Powell Foundation
I never imagined that a spinal cord injury would change the course of my life. It brought challenges I was not prepared for and showed me how difficult it can be to obtain the equipment, resources, and support a person needs.
Those experiences are why I started this foundation.
My hope is that no one living with a spinal cord injury feels forgotten or alone. We may be a small organization, but we are committed to helping real people with real needs.
Every person who donates, shares our mission, volunteers, or connects us with others helps move this work forward.
Whether you are here to learn about our organization, support our mission, or seek assistance, I am grateful that you took the time to visit.
Together, we can help restore independence, dignity, and hope.
Sincerely,
Nathan Powell
